Doja Cat is speaking out in defense of Madonna, pushing back against ageist criticism circulating on TikTok. The rapper directly addressed comments suggesting Madonna is “too old” to perform, turning the conversation toward deeper biases within pop culture.

Responding in the comments section, Doja Cat challenged the narrative head-on. “Is it because she’s an older woman who still feels sexy? Is that why?” she says in the video. Her message continued with sharper critique: “Do you want her to get off the stage because you feel threatened by an older woman who can do her job forever?

The Grammy-winning artist didn’t stop there. “It’s as if you’re telling an artist to stop doing her own work,” she added, pointing to a broader issue of control placed on women in entertainment. Closing her response, Doja Cat suggested the criticism reflects something more personal: “You don’t like it because there’s something personal going on inside you… something that only you know.”

Madonna, who launched her Celebration Tour in October 2023, has continued to perform globally into 2024, drawing sold-out crowds and reaffirming her status as one of pop’s most enduring live acts. The tour grossed over $200 million from an audience of 1.1 million. The Celebration Tour concluded with a free concert in Rio de Janeiro, which attracted an impressive audience of over 1.6 million people. As of April 2026, that concert remains Madonna’s final live performance. Her catalog spans more than four decades, with 12 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and a consistent presence across touring circuits. Criticism tied to her age has surfaced periodically throughout her career, often intensifying during high-profile appearances.
