JENNIE is reportedly preparing to return with new music before the end of the month. According to a new report from Naver, the BLACKPINK star is aiming to release a new solo EP in late August, marking her first multi-track project since the critically acclaimed debut album Ruby.

OA Entertainment confirmed that preparations for the comeback are moving quickly, with the agency stating that JENNIE is accelerating work on the upcoming mini-album. The project is expected to include several unreleased songs that fans have already heard during recent festival performances, transforming live debuts into official releases.

Among the tracks reportedly set to appear are “Less Than a Lover,” “FALLEN ANGEL,” and “lockitdown,” all of which JENNIE previewed across major international festivals throughout the summer. Rather than waiting for a traditional comeback showcase, she chose to introduce the new material on some of the world’s biggest stages before announcing the project itself, building anticipation through live performances.

Just days ago, JENNIE completed a three-month festival circuit spanning Europe, North America, and Asia, concluding with performances at Summer Sonic 2026 in Tokyo and Osaka. Along the way, she appeared at Governors Ball, Roskilde, Open’er, Mad Cool, and Lollapalooza.

After her final performance, JENNIE reflected on the experience in an emotional Instagram post, thanking fans while acknowledging both the highs and the unexpected challenges she encountered throughout the tour. The Osaka show became one of the defining moments of the run after she continued performing despite microphone issues and an outfit malfunction caused by extreme heat, earning widespread praise for finishing the set before apologizing to the audience.

Commercial momentum has continued to build alongside those performances. “Less Than a Lover,” written and composed by JENNIE, opened with 2.261 million Spotify streams, reached No. 1 on iTunes in at least 27 countries, and topped YouTube’s worldwide Trending Music Videos chart. The song quickly became one of the biggest solo releases of her career and fueled speculation that a larger project was on the way.
