Ariana Grande officially kicked off the European and final leg of her Eternal Sunshine Tour on Friday night (Aug. 15) at London’s O2 Arena, unveiling a refreshed setlist that incorporates songs from her newly released Billboard 200 No. 1 album, petal. Fans attending the opening show were treated to the live debuts of “kiss me” and “bad thing (bunny hop).”
While the production and overall structure of the Eternal Sunshine Tour remain largely intact, the addition of petal material gives the final stretch of shows a renewed sense of excitement.
One of the night’s most emotional moments came before Ariana Grande performed “Hampstead.” Reflecting on the tour’s approaching conclusion, she told the crowd, “As you know London is our final stop on this tour and I just wanted to say I’m going to savor every single second of these last 10 shows with you guys.” Her heartfelt message underscored that only nine concerts remain before the tour concludes on September 1 at the O2 Arena.
Beyond the music, eagle-eyed fans also spotted what appears to be a new matching tattoo shared by Ariana Grande and boyfriend Ricky Alvarez. The phrase, “i do love you,” was visible during the performance and quickly became a talking point across social media as photos from the show spread online.
The concert arrives during one of the biggest commercial weeks of Ariana Grande’s career. petal debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 295,000 equivalent album units, becoming her seventh chart-topping album and strongest opening week of the decade. Simultaneously, every song from the 12-track project landed inside the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 40, pushing Grande past 100 career entries on the chart.
Streaming numbers have been equally dominant. petal generated more than 249 million global Spotify streams during its opening week after debuting with over 62 million streams on release day.
