Florence + The Machine are back with a haunting and cinematic new single, “Sympathy Magic,” released today (October 27). The song offers an intimate glimpse into the world of Florence Welch, whose songwriting continues to merge ethereal imagery with raw emotional truth. The track serves as the third single from the band’s upcoming album Everybody Scream, set to arrive this Friday, October 31, via Polydor Records. It follows previously released tracks “One of the Greats” and the album’s title song.

Welch’s voice delivers lines that meditate on identity, transformation, and the loneliness of fame. She sings, “Memory fails me, names and faces blur / There is only after, or before / Am I so different? Have I changed? / I do not recognise my face / The scar fades but pulls inside.”

The music video, directed by Autumn de Wilde and choreographed by Ryan Heffington, visually mirrors the song’s tension between fragility and power. Set in an open landscape of wind, sky, and grass, the film captures Welch and a group of dancers moving through raw emotion with unfiltered energy.

Welch recently brought “Sympathy Magic” to life during her Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon performance, marking its television debut. The single continues the thematic depth hinted at in Everybody Scream, which Welch has described as her most personal work to date. The record was written following a period of recovery after her life-saving surgery in 2023.

Following the album release, Florence + The Machine will embark on their 2026 North American Tour, beginning April 8 in Minneapolis and wrapping up with two shows at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum in May. Support acts include Rachel Chinouriri, Sofia Isella, CMAT, and Mannequin Pussy on select dates.
