Gracie Abrams has released a powerful new song titled “Sold Out,” featuring Bon Iver and longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner. The track is available exclusively on Bandcamp, with all proceeds donated to Everytown, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending gun violence in the United States.
The release arrives with a deeply personal message from Abrams, Dessner, and Justin Vernon. According to Abrams, the song was written last year in the aftermath of a school shooting. Recent events, she explained, brought the song back into focus, making its release feel both urgent and necessary. While acknowledging the heaviness of sharing such a track during the holiday season, Abrams emphasized the importance of not looking away from ongoing pain and loss.
“We made this song last year in the wake of a school shooting,” she wrote. “I was reminded of it this week as our hearts were broken yet again. It’s a sad one to share during the holidays, but the world is hurting and we shouldn’t look away. We are proud to support Everytown, an organization dedicated to ending gun violence in America. We are releasing this song to raise awareness of their mission of reducing gun violence. Please visit their website for more information on the unbelievable work they do.”
The track was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Bella Blasko.
