Fans have spoken, and Hilary Duff is officially back in the spotlight. Her new single “Roommates” has been crowned Best New Release of the Week. The song topped InMusic’s weekly poll with a commanding 54% of the vote. As a result, Duff is placed ahead of major new projects from Madison Beer, NBA YoungBoy, and A$AP Rocky.
Released on January 15, “Roommates” marks Duff’s second single from her upcoming sixth studio album, Luck… or Something, due February 20. It is her first full-length project since 2015’s Breathe In. Breathe Out. The response suggests fans have been more than ready. Co-written with her husband Matthew Koma, the track blends soft pop textures with unusually direct lyrics. This combination earns immediate praise as one of the most honest and daring moments of Duff’s career.
Notably, this is not the first time that fans have shown their unwavering support for the 38-year-old singer. Her comeback single “Mature” was also voted Best New Song of the Week in November 2025. The timing has worked in her favor as well. Duff is currently launching her intimate Small Rooms, Big Nerves tour. This marks her first headlining run in 18 years. The tour further reconnects her with a loyal fanbase.
Madison Beer followed in second place with 31% of the vote for Locket, her third studio album released January 16. Widely praised for its emotional clarity and hands-on songwriting, the album has been positioned as one of pop’s early standout releases of 2026. It is driven by singles like “Bittersweet” and “Bad Enough.”
NBA YoungBoy’s sprawling 30-track album Slime Cry landed third with 11%, reflecting continued support from his core audience. A$AP Rocky’s Don’t Be Dumb, his first album in eight years, rounded out the poll with 4%.
