BLACKPINK’s Jennie is gearing up to release her highly anticipated debut solo album, Ruby, this Friday, March 7. Ahead of the release, the K-pop star joined a bowling party hosted by UK radio station Capital. During her conversation with Jordan North, the “Mantra” singer shared insights into the album and how she’s preparing for Coachella 2025. Ruby will feature several high-profile collaborations, including one with none other than Dua Lipa.

The British Grammy-winning singer appears on the album’s fourth track, “Handlebars,” and Jennie reflected on their collaboration. “Working with Dua is always a pleasure. You know, knowing her for the longest time, and this time we actually got to,” she said on Capital. While she didn’t reveal much about the track, she expressed her excitement: “Okay, I don’t know how much I am allowed to say, but working with her—it doesn’t even feel like work. It feels like you’re hanging out with your friend for a day.”
Beyond her collaboration with Dua Lipa, Jennie made sure to bring in other major artists for Ruby. The album also features appearances from Doechii, Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis, Dominic Fike, and FKJ. So far, three singles—“Mantra”, “Love Hangover”, and “ExtraL”—have been released ahead of the album, while “Like JENNIE” will drop as the fourth single alongside the album this Friday.
Thematically, Ruby promises to showcase the full spectrum of Jennie’s artistry. Earlier this year, she told Billboard that the album’s concept is about “completing myself as Jennie Ruby-Jane, for that to be a whole person, in a way.” She also hinted at an exploration of multiple genres: “I’m rapping here, I’m singing here, I’m harmonizing here, I’m talking here.”
With the release just days away, fans can’t wait to lose themselves in Jennie’s debut album.
