KATSEYE’s WILD era delivers a major streaming milestone. The group’s new song “Animal” debuted at No. 9 on the Spotify Daily Global Chart dated July 24, earning 3.346 million streams and becoming the biggest first-day chart debut of KATSEYE’s career.
The achievement arrives 24 hours after the song’s release and marks another significant step forward for the HYBE x Geffen girl group, whose global audience continues to expand with each comeback. While “Gabriela” remains KATSEYE’s highest-charting song overall after peaking at No. 7, “Animal” now holds the distinction of delivering the strongest opening on the platform.
The new song overtakes several of the group’s previous debuts on Spotify’s global chart. Before “Animal,” KATSEYE’s biggest launches included “Internet Girl” and “Pinky Up,” which both opened at No. 13, followed by “Iconic By Mistake” at No. 18.

Streaming momentum has been fueled not only by the song itself but also by the ambitious music video released alongside it on July 24. Directed by Cody Critcheloe, the nearly three-minute visual embraces a cinematic aesthetic built around observation rooms, mirrored realities, and constantly shifting identities. Rich red lighting, polished visual effects, and dynamic choreography reinforce the track’s themes of embracing instinct and confidence.
“Animal” also places a stronger emphasis on the members’ vocals. Sophia, Lara, Daniela, Megan, and Yoonchae each receive extended solo moments throughout the song, giving the record a different dynamic from some of the group’s previous singles.
Adding another headline-grabbing moment, Academy Award-nominated actress Demi Moore makes a surprise appearance in the music video. Her cameo continues the group’s growing relationship with Hollywood talent following Jessica Alba’s memorable role in the 2025 video for “Gabriela.”
The release also serves as the latest preview of KATSEYE’s third EP, WILD, arriving Aug. 14 via HYBE x Geffen Records. Co-written by Ed Sheeran and produced by Omer Fedi and Blake Slatkin, “Animal” embraces flirtatious pop melodies while exploring the contrast between polished public personas and uninhibited private identities.
