KATSEYE could be on the verge of making Billboard history. According to early projections from Hits Daily Double, the global girl group’s new EP WILD is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 150,000–165,000 equivalent album units earned during its opening week in the United States.
If the forecast holds, WILD would deliver the biggest U.S. debut for a girl group in nearly two decades, marking a defining commercial breakthrough for the HYBE x Geffen act. The projected total would also comfortably surpass the opening performance of the group’s previous EP, Beautiful Chaos, further cementing KATSEYE’s rapid rise in the music industry.
Released on August 14 through HYBE x Geffen Records, WILD showcases the group’s most confident musical direction to date. The five-track EP includes previously released singles “Pinky Up” and “Animal,” alongside new songs “Hootie Frutti,” “Bel Air,” and “That Way.” A Target-exclusive edition also features the bonus track “Unloveu,” co-written and co-produced by member Lara Raj.
The strong Billboard projection follows an exceptional first weekend across streaming platforms. WILD generated approximately 10.75 million first-day streams on Global Spotify, setting a new career high for KATSEYE and surpassing the 8.29 million first-day total achieved by Beautiful Chaos in 2025.
Every song from the EP also landed on Spotify’s Daily Global chart. Leading the way was “Animal,” which climbed back to its peak of No. 5 with 3.379 million streams. “Hootie Frutti” debuted at No. 12 with 2.97 million streams, instantly becoming the group’s third-highest-charting song on the platform behind “Animal” and “Gabriela.” Meanwhile, “Pinky Up” returned at No. 84, “Bel Air” entered at No. 116, and “That Way” debuted at No. 140, giving the EP a clean sweep across the global ranking.
Promotion for WILD has extended well beyond streaming success. During release week, KATSEYE performed on NBC’s Today as part of the Citi Concert Series, introducing the new material to a national television audience. Days later, the group appeared at D23, where they honored Disney Legend Susan Egan with a performance of “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)” from Hercules.
