Katy Perry kicked off O Son do Camiño 2026 in spectacular fashion on June 18, headlining the opening night of the Spanish festival with a career-spanning set packed with chart-topping hits, fan favorites, surprise covers, and an unreleased song. Performing at Monte do Gozo in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Perry delivered one of the festival’s most anticipated performances, complete with elaborate visuals, choreography, and multiple costume changes.
The pop superstar opened with “California Gurls” before launching into a run of defining hits including “Teenage Dream,” “Last Friday Night (TGIF),” and “Dark Horse.”
One of the biggest talking points of the performance came when Perry debuted “Watch It Burn,” her upcoming single scheduled for release on June 26. The song follows 2025’s “Bandaids,” a track that signaled a more introspective and emotionally direct songwriting approach.
Speaking recently about the new song, Perry described it as one of her most personal releases to date.
“In ‘Watch It Burn’, I am wrestling with my darkness,” she said. “Last year was pretty tough. I have not given myself permission to be angry my whole life over things where I should be fucking angry about.”
The festival audience also witnessed a handful of unexpected moments, including Perry’s rendition of David Bowie’s “Space Odyssey” and a performance of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs classic “Heads Will Roll.”
