Katy Perry is opening up about the future of her music as fans eagerly anticipate her next chapter. When asked whether her recent single “bandaids” will appear on her upcoming seventh studio album, widely referred to by fans as KP7, Perry offered a thoughtful, reflective answer. “This song really encapsulates just what’s going on in my life currently,” she said. “And whether that starts a new path or not, I think what it’s really doing is just clearing the path to the next location.

Released on November 6, the pop-rock ballad showcases a more vulnerable side of Perry. Co-written with Kiddo Ibañez and crafted by Justin Tranter, Sean Cook, Russ Chell, and Eren Cannata, the track sees the singer confront heartbreak and the messy aftermath of a relationship. The accompanying music video—co-directed with Christian Breslauer—uses Final Destination-inspired visuals to depict a symbolic spiral of emotional chaos. The song quickly found commercial traction, landing inside the top 75 in the U.K. and Canada.

“Bandaids” arrived just a year after Perry’s last album, 143, released September 20, 2024. That project marked her seventh studio release and a return to the dance-pop sound that defined her early career. Working with Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Stargate, and rising collaborators like Vaughn Oliver and Rocco Did It Again!, the 41-year-old icon shaped what she called a “dance party album.” 143 debuted at number six on both the Billboard 200 and the U.K. Albums Chart, and entered the top ten in eight countries. A digital reissue, 1432 (I Love You Too), followed that December, adding four new tracks including the fan favorite “OK.”

Since April 2025, Katy Perry has taken the album global with her Lifetimes Tour, where she debuted “bandaids” live during a November 2025 show in Lyon, France.
