Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile” has officially surpassed 4 billion streams on Spotify, setting another major milestone for the blockbuster collaboration. The song reached the mark on September 20, 2026, becoming the fastest track in Spotify history to cross the 4 billion-stream threshold.
“Die With a Smile” reached 4 billion streams in just 765 days, or slightly more than two years after its August 16, 2024 release. The achievement sees Gaga and Mars overtake Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” which previously held the record for the fastest song to reach 4 billion streams.

The new milestone adds another record to an already extraordinary streaming run. “Die With a Smile” previously became the fastest song in Spotify history to reach 1 billion streams, doing so in 96 days. It then reached 2 billion in 200 days and 3 billion in 410 days, setting new speed records at each stage.
The song has now become the most-streamed track on Spotify for both Gaga and Mars individually. That places the collaboration above each artist’s biggest streaming successes on the platform.
Released through Interscope Records, “Die With a Smile” was developed from a track Bruno Mars had been working on with Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II and James Fauntleroy in 2021. Mars presented the song to Lady Gaga three years later, with the four completing the track on the same day.
Commercially, “Die With a Smile” became one of the defining songs of the 2020s. It spent 18 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and topped charts in more than 30 countries, including the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also the most-streamed song on Spotify in 2025 and became the platform’s longest-reigning daily No. 1 song.
Its awards run added another milestone in early 2025. “Die With a Smile” was nominated for Song of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards and won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
