ROSÉ made history at the 2026 LACMA Art+Film Gala, becoming the first K-pop artist to perform at the annual Los Angeles event. The BLACKPINK singer took the stage on November 7 for a live-band set that brought together her global hit “APT.,” solo material and a surprise cover of The Killers.

The 15th annual gala was held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, where ROSÉ joined an evening honoring artist Vija Celmins and filmmaker Denis Villeneuve. Co-chaired by Leonardo DiCaprio and LACMA trustee Eva Chow, and presented by Gucci, the event has become one of Los Angeles’ most prominent intersections of art, film and fashion.

ROSÉ’s performance included “APT.,” the hit collaboration with Bruno Mars, alongside “Number One Girl” and “New Trick,” her latest solo single. She also offered a rendition of “Read My Mind,” the 2006 song by The Killers, giving the set a rock-oriented moment that complemented the direction of her newest release.

The gala also provided a high-profile stage for the new single, which arrived on September 17. Co-written by ROSÉ with Amy Allen and Andrew Wells just two days after the Met Gala, “New Trick” marked a noticeable shift from the vulnerable, heartbreak-centered writing of her 2024 debut solo album, rosie. Instead, the garage-punk and pop-rock track turns the aftermath of a breakup into a playful, forward-moving hook.

Its visual campaign delivered an immediate response. Directed by Dave Meyers and filmed entirely on an iPhone 18 Pro for Apple’s Shot on iPhone campaign, the music video drew 11.6 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours and around 25 million after roughly two days. The single also debuted at No. 133 on Spotify’s Global chart with more than 1.37 million streams, the fourth-biggest 2026 song debut by a K-pop soloist, and reached No. 1 on iTunes in 26 countries.

For the gala, ROSÉ arrived in a black velvet Saint Laurent coat from Anthony Vaccarello’s Spring 2027 collection, detailed with ornate gold brooches.
