Leigh-Anne Pinnock has spoken candidly about the breakdown of her relationship with her former record label, revealing that she was effectively “ghosted” before deciding to go independent. Appearing on the Mad Sad Bad with Paloma Faith podcast, the singer described the experience as abrupt, confusing, and emotionally difficult, marking a turning point in her post–Little Mix career.
“I had a fallout with my label, and basically left them,” Pinnock explained. “They weren’t responding to us, basically ghosting. It was wild.” She added that she never received a formal explanation, recalling one particularly jarring moment when the head of the label briefly called her team, only to end the call after two rings. “So I actually haven’t ever had an explanation. That was quite brutal,” she said.
The comments add further clarity to Pinnock’s widely discussed move away from Warner Records in 2025. A few weeks ago, the singer confirmed that the label declined to fund her debut solo album, a decision that ultimately pushed her toward independence. In a personal recap video shared with fans, Pinnock revealed that Warner cited a lack of budget to release the project, despite her momentum as a solo artist.
Rather than stall her career, the setback became a catalyst. Pinnock chose to take control of her creative direction and business decisions, later partnering with Virgin Music Group while operating as an independent artist. Since then, she has steadily rebuilt her rollout, releasing tracks such as “Been a Minute,” “Burning Up,” and “Dead and Gone,” alongside collaborations including Sigala and Jonita’s “Hello.”
Her upcoming debut album, My Ego Told Me To, arrives on February 20, 2026, positioning Pinnock for a defining new chapter. The project will be supported by the My Ego Told Me Tour, an eight-date UK and European run scheduled for April 2026.
