Excitement is at an all-time high following the Academy’s announcement of the performer lineup for the 2025 Oscars, set to take place this Sunday, March 2, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are among the artists set to take the stage, but what truly sent fans into a frenzy was the addition of LISA, Doja Cat, and RAYE. Their performance will be historic, as LISA becomes the first K-pop artist to ever perform at the Oscars. With the trio recently releasing their collaboration “Born Again”, many assumed they would perform the song at the ceremony. However, that won’t be the case.

When The Academy confirmed that they would not be performing “Born Again”, fans immediately began speculating about what they had in store. “Not ‘Born Again!’ But still legendary. Stay tuned,” the Academy’s official X/Twitter account teased. One curious fan asked, “Wait, are they covering a song? Or doing something for an upcoming cinematic project? Don’t leave us hanging!” The Academy, however, kept the mystery alive, responding only with cryptic emojis.
Released on February 6 through Lloud and RCA Records, “Born Again” serves as the fourth single from LISA’s upcoming debut studio album, Alter Ego, set to drop on February 28. Leading up to the album’s release, the 27-year-old singer introduced five alter egos: ROXI, SUNNI, KIKI, SPEEDI, and VIXI. As part of the rollout, LISA will also release a limited edition 56-page graphic novel, “Alter Ego: The Official Comic,” illustrated by Minomiyabi, arriving on March 24.
