LISA has scored the biggest first-day Spotify debut of 2026 for a K-pop soloist, as her new EP PRESS PLAY opened with 8.272 million streams on October 23. Released alongside the music video for “Tarantino,” the six-track project also debuted at No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes Albums Chart.
With its opening-day total, PRESS PLAY ranks among the strongest Spotify debuts of the year for K-pop releases. Only six projects by K-pop acts posted higher first-day streaming figures: aespa’s Lemonade with 8.4 million streams, ENHYPEN’s The Sin: Bliss with 8.4 million and The Sin: Vanish with 9.5 million, Stray Kids’ This & That with 12.8 million, BLACKPINK’s Deadline with 16.9 million, and BTS’ ARIRANG, which opened with 112 million streams.

The EP’s performance was driven in part by its lead release, “Tarantino,” which debuted at No. 44 on Spotify’s Daily Global Chart with 1.911 million streams. The track arrived with a cinematic music video inspired by action and spy thrillers, adding a visual component to the release and extending LISA’s run of major YouTube debuts.
“SaWaDiKa,” meanwhile, returned to Spotify’s Daily Global Chart at No. 71, gaining 123 positions with 1.607 million streams. The single originally debuted at No. 13 following its release in early September. Other tracks from the EP also recorded substantial opening-day figures. “V12” accumulated approximately 998,000 Spotify streams, while “Cut U Off” followed closely with 971,000.
The Spotify debut follows another major milestone for “Tarantino.” The music video generated 41.9 million views in its first 24 hours on YouTube, becoming the platform’s second-biggest music video debut of 2026. Only LISA’s own “SaWaDiKa” performed better during the year, placing the new release behind another video from the same artist.
The achievement further strengthens LISA’s position in the first-day YouTube rankings for K-pop soloists. Her 2021 debut single “LALISA” remains the category’s biggest opening with 73.6 million views, narrowly ahead of “SaWaDiKa,” which recorded 73.3 million. “Tarantino” now ranks third, giving LISA all three of the most-viewed music video debuts by K-pop soloists in their first 24 hours. She also becomes the only soloist with three music videos surpassing 40 million first-day views, moving ahead of Taylor Swift, who has two.
