Olivia Rodrigo is officially back working on new music. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter confirmed in a new AMEX interview that she’s currently back in the studio working on her third studio album. “Now I’m home, working on my new album,” Rodrigo said, marking the clearest sign yet that her highly anticipated “OR3” era is underway.
The update arrives just weeks after the Guts star wrapped her record-breaking world tour, which grossed over $196 million and became the highest-grossing tour by any artist born in the 21st century. Following more than a year on the road, Rodrigo says she’s finally ready to slow down and reconnect with her creative side — and fans couldn’t be more excited.

Rumors of new music have been swirling for months. In early September, the popstar celebrated the two-year anniversary of her acclaimed sophomore album Guts with a handwritten-style message to fans. “I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since Guts came out!” she wrote. “Thank you to every single one of you who listened to the album, came to the Guts World Tour, or saw me play at a festival. I made the most incredible memories over the last two years & I can’t wait to share what’s next with you soon!!”
Alongside the note, she teased a new design on her official website — featuring a red-and-purple color scheme and a mysterious girl with a bow and arrow. Fans quickly speculated that the imagery hints at the visual direction of her next project.
Olivia has been subtly dropping hints about new music since mid-summer. During her set at Osheaga Festival in August, she wore a red shirt with the number “3,” which many interpreted as a nod to her third album. Earlier this year, she also shared behind-the-scenes photos from the studio, suggesting that early recording sessions were already underway.
Her upcoming album will follow Guts (2023), which earned critical acclaim and multiple Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year. The record debuted at No. 1 in 15 countries and produced global hits like “Vampire,” “Bad Idea Right?” and “Get Him Back!”
