Olivia Rodrigo has added another major international achievement to her growing résumé. The singer-songwriter’s third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, debuts at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, giving Olivia Rodrigo her third chart-topping album in Australia.
The new project continues a remarkable streak for the pop superstar, who previously reached the summit with Sour in 2021 and Guts in 2023. The latest milestone arrives amid one of the biggest commercial periods of Rodrigo’s career, with the album also dominating streaming platforms worldwide since its release.
Australia has consistently been one of Rodrigo’s strongest markets. Sour spent eight weeks at No. 1 following its release in 2021, while Guts ruled the chart for two weeks in 2023. Between those studio albums, she also reached No. 11 with Live From Glastonbury (A BBC Recording) in 2025.
The success of You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love extends far beyond the albums chart. Third single “Stupid Song” debuts straight to No. 1 on this week’s ARIA Singles Chart, becoming Rodrigo’s third Australian chart-topper in less than two months. Earlier this year, “Drop Dead” spent one week atop the chart in April, while “The Cure” reached No. 1 in May.
Interest around the album has been so strong that all 13 tracks land inside the Australian Top 30. Among the standout entries is “What’s Wrong With Me,” Rodrigo’s collaboration with The Cure frontman Robert Smith, which debuts at No. 12. The appearance marks Smith’s first Top 50 presence in Australia since The Cure’s “The 13th” peaked at No. 31 in 1996.
The Australian chart achievement adds to an already dominant opening week for the album. Since release, Rodrigo has maintained a firm grip on streaming platforms, while You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love has emerged as one of the biggest global album launches of 2026. The project generated more than 81 million Spotify streams on its first day and has continued producing strong daily numbers across major markets.
Elsewhere on the ARIA Albums Chart, Keith Urban debuts at No. 5 with Flow State while simultaneously claiming the No. 1 position on the Australian Albums Chart. The project marks Urban’s first covers album and features collaborations with John Mayer, Little Big Town, and Michael McDonald.
