ILLIT member MOKA will temporarily suspend all activities to focus on her health, BELIFT LAB announced on June 19. The agency confirmed that the group will continue scheduled promotions and tour dates as a four-member act while the singer prioritizes recovery.
According to the official statement, MOKA has been receiving treatment since preparations for ILLIT’s fourth mini album, MAMIHLAPINATAPAI, after experiencing excessive tension and symptoms of anxiety. Although she participated in some music show appearances during the final week of promotions, BELIFT LAB said additional rest was ultimately deemed necessary.
“We would like to provide an update regarding ILLIT member MOKA’s future activities,” the company stated. “Since the preparation stages of the 4th Mini Album comeback, MOKA has been receiving treatment and working on her recovery regarding excessive tension and symptoms of anxiety.”
The agency explained that MOKA’s decision came after extensive discussions involving both the artist and her fellow members. “As a result, MOKA has decided to temporarily suspend all activities and focus on her health and recovery,” the statement continued.
BELIFT LAB also acknowledged the disappointment many fans may feel following the announcement. “We are sad to be sharing this news with fans who have been waiting so patiently. The artist herself is also deeply saddened that she will not be able to see fans during this time.”
The news arrives during a particularly active period for ILLIT. On April 30, the group released its fourth mini album, MAMIHLAPINATAPAI, continuing the momentum built since its debut.
Outside of their own releases, ILLIT recently joined forces with LE SSERAFIM and KATSEYE on the HYBE collaboration single “Iconic By Mistake.” The track quickly gained traction on streaming platforms and entered the Top 25 on Spotify.
Despite MOKA’s hiatus, upcoming tour plans remain unchanged. Beginning June 20, ILLIT will continue its Live Press Start tour across Japan. The run includes stops in Osaka, Fukuoka, Hyogo, and Tokyo before concluding on July 26. BELIFT LAB confirmed that the remaining four members will carry out the scheduled performances while MOKA focuses on recovery.
