Olivia Rodrigo is getting into the holiday spirit with a new original song. The Grammy-winning singer will release “take me home (4 christmas)” on Thursday, November 5, marking her first commercial original Christmas single and adding a seasonal twist to her ongoing era.

The track will arrive alongside a special two-song package, with a limited first-pressing red 7-inch vinyl featuring “miss this christmas” on its B-side. The physical release places “take me home (4 christmas)” on Side A, while pre-orders have already appeared on Rodrigo’s official store.

According to the vinyl’s promotional description, the new song captures “the excitement and nerves of spending the holidays with someone you love.”

Although this will be her first commercially released original Christmas single, Olivia Rodrigo has visited holiday music before. In 2021, she shared a glimpse of “The Bels,” a playful Christmas song she reportedly wrote when she was five years old. A fuller version subsequently appeared through her newsletter and website in 2022, giving fans an early look at her childhood songwriting.

Last December, she also joined Jacob Collier for an a cappella rendition of the holiday classic “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” Earlier in her career, Rodrigo also contributed to the soundtrack of High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special.

The November 5 release comes during a particularly successful period for the popstar. Her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, recently reclaimed No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 75,000 equivalent album units, bringing its total to three weeks atop the chart.

The album originally debuted with 485,000 units, the biggest opening week of Rodrigo’s career and the largest debut by a female act in 2026. It followed that achievement with another 180,000 units in its second week, making it her first album to spend its first two weeks at No. 1 on the chart. Neither SOUR nor GUTS achieved that consecutive-week milestone.

Olivia Rodrigo has continued supporting the album through her Unraveled Tour, which began in September, as well as additional releases including “Serena Joy” and the “Expectations” remix featuring Chappell Roan.
