Olivia Rodrigo turned one of the most intimate moments of The Unraveled Tour into its most visually striking scene when her white dress transformed into a red corset minidress during “The Cure.” The reveal happened as staged rain poured over the singer during the opening night of the tour at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Connecticut, on Friday, September 25.
The moment arrived during the Winter section of Rodrigo’s 22-song set, which was structured around Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter before returning to Spring for the encore. After moving through “Honeybee,” “Favorite Crime,” “Drivers License” and “Less,” Rodrigo stepped into the rain for “The Cure,” turning the song into a piece of live theater as much as a concert performance.

For the sequence, Olivia Rodrigo wore a white Hussein Chalayan water-soluble micro minidress from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. As water hit the fabric, the dress gradually dissolved into soapy suds, revealing a structured red corset minidress underneath.
Rather than requiring a traditional costume change, the transformation happened directly in front of the audience. Olivia Rodrigo continued singing through the downpour, throwing her arms outward as the white layer disappeared and the red silhouette became visible beneath it. Videos of the sequence quickly began circulating online, making the “The Cure” performance one of the defining visual moments from the tour’s opening night.
The staging also fits the emotional progression of the show. The Unraveled Tour follows a seasonal structure, with the earlier portions leaning into the excitement and energy of Rodrigo’s newer material before Autumn and Winter introduce songs with more vulnerable and darker emotional themes.

The Hartford opening night included almost the entire new album, with “What’s Wrong With Me” the only track left off the setlist. Alongside the newer songs, Rodrigo performed SOUR and GUTS staples including “Good 4 U,” “Bad Idea Right?,” “Vampire,” “Traitor,” “Drivers License,” “Deja Vu” and “All-American Bitch.”
