ROSALÍA welcomed a special guest during the opening night of her Los Angeles stop on the LUX Tour on June 29, inviting Karol G to take part in the show’s signature “Confessionario” segment. Instead of performing a song, the Colombian superstar shared a deeply personal story about a past relationship.

Before beginning her confession, Karol G smiled at ROSALÍA and said, “What a relief to meet you. We already knew each other from before, but now it feels like a whole new level of friendship.

She then reflected on a relationship in which her former partner repeatedly avoided celebrating his birthday with her.

I was in a relationship where that person didn’t like celebrating his birthday with me. And that always seemed strange to me, because who wouldn’t want to spend that date with the person they are with? she said.

According to Karol G, the situation became a recurring pattern rather than an isolated incident.

The most curious thing is that this happened every year. There was always a different excuse. Over time, I started to notice this pattern and kind of got used to it, but it still bothered me.

She explained that birthdays were never really the issue. Instead, what affected her most was the lack of effort behind the repeated excuses.

To me, even if someone doesn’t like birthdays, it should still be important to want to share that moment with the person by your side.

Karol G revealed that the final turning point came when an international birthday trip they had already planned together never happened.

The most striking moment was that, in the last year, we already had everything ready to travel and celebrate in another part of the world, but it didn’t end up happening.

Looking back, she said that experience helped her recognize a larger pattern within the relationship.

This made me realize even more how much it had already become a pattern of lack of consideration.

The emotional moment fit naturally into the Confessionario, one of the defining features of ROSALÍA’s LUX Tour, where guests and fans are invited to share intimate stories instead of traditional concert speeches.

The Los Angeles performance continues a significant stretch for ROSALÍA after resuming the U.S. leg earlier this month. Her return followed the postponement of the tour’s opening American dates because of a family emergency. During her comeback show in Boston on June 11, she thanked fans for their patience, telling the audience, Thank you for understanding. And that the loved ones need to come first.”

Karol G’s appearance also comes just weeks before launching her own Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour, which begins its North American leg in late July.
