Shaboozey has officially unveiled the full guest lineup and tracklist for his upcoming fourth studio album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, arriving July 31 through American Dogwood and EMPIRE. The announcement came via a retro television-inspired trailer that presents the project as a cinematic Western, complete with dramatic visuals and a cast of high-profile collaborators.
The feature list reflects the album’s ambitious storytelling approach. Jamie Foxx, Teyana Taylor, Sam Elliott, Kehlani, Orville Peck, Leon Bridges, and Gunna all appear across the 20-track record, blending country, Americana, folk, hip-hop, and pop into a single narrative experience.
Unlike 2024’s Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, the new album follows a fictional protagonist named Cherie Lee. The Wild West-inspired concept centers on her search for revenge after the murder of her sheriff father, with the story evolving through themes of justice, redemption, love, and survival.
Jamie Foxx plays a particularly significant role, appearing on the opening title track, “Hell Is Hot,” and providing narrative interludes that help move the story forward. Legendary actor Sam Elliott lends his voice to “Don’t Count Down,” while Gunna joins “High Noon,” Leon Bridges appears on “Burn It Down,” Teyana Taylor features on “Death of Jeremiah Walker,” Kehlani contributes to “Bullets + Blades,” and Orville Peck closes the album with “The Epilogue.”
The rollout began earlier this year with a movie-style trailer narrated by Foxx before Shaboozey released “Born to Die” and “Cowgirl” as the project’s lead singles. He also expanded the album’s universe beyond music by co-directing visuals with Logan Meis and creating an immersive Western saloon installation during Stagecoach Festival.
