Tate McRae is officially entering her new era with “Housewife,” a new song arriving October 15. The pop star announced the track with a striking cover image showing her in a red bikini beside a luxury baby stroller filled with cash, posed in front of a lavish villa, alongside a wedding ring emoji.

The announcement adds another layer to the visual world Tate McRae has been building throughout 2026. Her August festival performances at Osheaga and Lollapalooza introduced an “Anatomy of a Popstar” concept. Gold has also emerged as a recurring motif, most dramatically when McRae ended “Sports Car” at Lollapalooza Chicago on August 2 by submerging herself in liquid gold paint after introducing similar imagery during her Osheaga headline set the previous day.

That visual transformation comes after the blockbuster run of So Close to What, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and established another major chapter in McRae’s rise. The album delivered “Sports Car,” “It’s OK I’m OK,” “2 Hands” and “Tit for Tat,” with the latter becoming one of her biggest chart successes.

“Tit for Tat” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving McRae her third career Top 10 hit on the chart. The song was also featured on SO CLOSE TO WHAT??? (deluxe), which expanded the original album with five additional tracks: “Tit for Tat,” “Nobody’s Girl,” “Anything But Love,” “Trying on Shoes” and “Horseshoe.”

“Housewife” will mark Tate McRae’s first new release in almost a year and arrives as her career increasingly stretches beyond music. Earlier this month, she officially launched TATE 01, her first signature fragrance, expanding her fashion and beauty presence with a scent built around the idea of an elevated “second skin.”

Created in partnership with Scent Beauty, Inc., TATE 01 was developed by Givaudan master perfumers Adriana Medina and Antoine Maisondieu. The fragrance centers on ISO E Super, a soft woody ingredient known for interacting with individual skin chemistry and allowing the scent to evolve differently on each wearer. It initially launched through McRae’s website before its planned rollout at Ulta Beauty later this month.
