As always, InMusic polled fans on X (formerly Twitter) to see which new releases they loved most. The Weeknd and Anitta dominated with their hit “São Paulo,” racking up an impressive 80% of the votes, followed by Shawn Mendes’ “Heart of Gold” (18%) and Ava Max’s “1 Wish” (2%). Released last Thursday, “São Paulo” quickly gained momentum, debuting with nearly five million streams on Spotify in its first day. Within three days, the song has surpassed 15 million streams on Spotify, making it the fastest track by a Brazilian artist to reach this milestone.
“São Paulo” marks the third single from The Weeknd’s much-anticipated album Hurry Up Tomorrow, whose release date is still under wraps. The album’s first three singles—“Dancing in the Flames,” “Timeless,” and “São Paulo”—have all been hugely successful, building anticipation for the full project.
