The Weeknd has started teasing his new album, the third installment of the trilogy following “After Hours” and “Dawn FM.” The Canadian superstar shared a cryptic post on his social media accounts with the caption ‘3,’ accompanied by three images, two of which are the album covers for “After Hours” and “Dawn FM,” while the third features a question mark on a black background. On his X account, the singer also reposted a photo from the fan account The Weeknd Access, showcasing three side photos from his albums with the captions ‘pain,’ ‘regret,’ and ‘rebirth.’

Rumors about a possible album release in 2024 by The Weeknd have been circulating over the past year. In September, the “Blinding Lights” singer shared several pictures from the recording studio with producers OPN, Trey Edward Shults, Metro Boomin, and Mike Dean. Additionally, in an interview with Variety, he revealed that he was finishing his new album, completing the third part of his saga.

Throughout 2023, The Weeknd was committed to his sixth concert tour, the After Hours Til Dawn Tour, which visited North America, Europe, and Latin America and is set to return this year in Oceania. The Weeknd’s latest album, “Dawn FM,” was released two years ago in 2022, marking the second act of the trilogy. At the time, the Grammy-winning artist described the follow-up to “After Hours” as a state of purgatory, symbolizing a journey towards the ‘light at the end of the tunnel.’ The album spawned hit singles such as “Take My Breath,” “Sacrifice,” “Out of Time,” and “Less Than Zero.”
