Ariana Grande has added another major streaming milestone to the petal era. The pop superstar’s eighth studio album debuted with 249.1M streams worldwide during its first week on Spotify, making it one of the platform’s biggest album launches of 2026.

The milestone follows an explosive opening day. Upon release, petal generated 62.19 million Spotify streams worldwide in its first 24 hours, while all 12 songs from the album simultaneously entered the Daily Global Spotify Chart.

The album’s first-day performance was led by the title track, “petal,” which debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Global Chart with 7.822 million streams, becoming Ariana Grande’s second global chart-topper of 2026 after lead single “hate that i made you love me.” The latter opened at No. 2 with 7.6 million streams, as Grande occupied the chart’s top two positions.

petal quickly expanded its grip across Spotify’s rankings. “kiss me” arrived at No. 3 with 6.2 million streams, followed by “stay” at No. 5 (5.2 million), “oh well” at No. 6 (5.1 million), “big feelings” at No. 7 (4.8 million), “like i do” at No. 8 (4.7 million), “freak” at No. 9 (4.5 million), and “never get over me” at No. 10 (4.1 million).

The release also added another historic achievement to Ariana Grande’s résumé. By sending “petal” to No. 1 globally, she became the first female artist ever to score multiple Global Spotify No. 1 songs from three different albumsthank u, next, eternal sunshine, and petal.

The momentum carried into the weekly chart. hate that i made you love me” reclaimed No. 1 on the Weekly Global Spotify Chart with 36.7 million streams, while “petal” followed at No. 2 with 33.8 million. Elsewhere, “kiss me” debuted at No. 13 with 20.5 million, “stay” entered at No. 17 with 18.9 million, and both “like i do” and “oh well” landed inside the Top 20 with approximately 18.7 million streams each.

While petal debuted below the 342 million-plus first-week Spotify streams posted by Eternal Sunshine in 2024, the project has quickly established itself as one of the year’s defining releases. 

Commercially, petal debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 295,000 equivalent album units, earning Grande her seventh chart-topping album and biggest opening week of the decade. The new also opened with 168,000 pure album sales, marking Grande’s biggest sales week in more than a decade.
