Tyla made her mark at the 2025 Global Citizen Festival with a performance that blended energy, emotion, and undeniable star power. Taking the stage at New York City’s Central Park, the Grammy-winning South African artist delivered a setlist that spanned hits, fan favorites, and even a preview of new music.

Kicking things off with “Is It” from her recent EP WWP (We Wanna Party), Tyla wasted no time setting the tone. The crowd was treated to sharp choreography, commanding vocals, and the kind of infectious energy that has made her one of the fastest-rising global stars. From there, she moved into “Truth or Dare” and “Dynamite”—the latter her collaboration with Wizkid that’s already a chart success.

But it was during her performance of “Water”—the song that earned her a Grammy and global acclaim—that the night took an unexpected turn. Midway through the track, Tyla stopped her set to ensure help was provided to a fan in the crowd. After the situation calmed, she restarted the song with a rallying cry: “Now we’re gonna scream.” The audience responded with even more energy, turning the performance into a defining festival moment.

The set also showcased Tyla’s versatility. She weaved in “Art” and “Shake Ah”, as well as “Thata Ahh” and “Mr. Media”, keeping the pace high and the audience engaged. Fans were particularly excited when she offered a snippet of an unreleased song, seemingly titled “Chanel”.

Closing with “Jump” and the euphoric “Push 2 Start”, Tyla left the stage to roaring applause.

As fans await the release of her highly anticipated second album, Tyla’s Global Citizen Festival appearance underscored her role not just as a rising star, but as a global performer with the charisma to own any stage.
