Global Citizen Festival is back—and bigger than ever. The 2025 edition of the annual advocacy-powered music event will return to New York City’s Central Park on September 27, with The Weeknd and Shakira headlining a star-studded lineup that also includes Tyla, Ayra Starr, and Mariah the Scientist. Actor and longtime Global Citizen Ambassador Hugh Jackman will serve as host.

Known for its mission to end extreme poverty and promote climate justice, the Global Citizen Festival invites fans to attend for free—but not without action. Instead of purchasing tickets, attendees earn them by taking advocacy steps on the Global Citizen app—from signing petitions to contacting government officials about global issues.
This year’s campaign focuses on three core goals:
• Providing clean energy access to 1 million people in Africa
• Raising $200 million to protect the Amazon rainforest
• Supporting $30 million in education programs for underserved children
The festival continues to align with the United Nations General Assembly week, helping spotlight key global causes while generating momentum through music, celebrity influence, and public engagement.
Since its inception in 2012, Global Citizen Festival has hosted some of the world’s biggest stars—including Beyoncé, Coldplay, Rihanna, BTS, and Post Malone—and has helped mobilize over 33.5 million actions, resulting in $43 billion+ in commitments affecting 1.3 billion lives globally.
