The last New Music Friday of August 2024 had a strong R&B flavor. Kehlani dropped her third mixtape, While We Wait 2, the follow-up to her 2019 release While We Wait. The 14-track project, featuring collaborations with artists like Lucky Daye and FLO, arrived just two months after her fourth album, CRASH. Staying in the R&B lane, Victoria Monét teamed up with Usher for the sultry single “SOS (Sex on Sight),” while Muni Long unveiled her sophomore album, Revenge. Rounding out the week’s releases, ASAP Rocky unleashed “Tailor Swif” from his upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb.

As usual, InMusic turned to Instagram to ask fans about their favorite new releases, and the results are in. Victoria Monét and Usher’s “SOS (Sex on Sight)” took the lead, securing 59% of the total votes. ASAP Rocky’s “Tailor Swif” followed with 19%, while Kehlani’s While We Wait 2 garnered 15%. Muni Long’s Revenge received 7% of the votes.
“SOS (Sex on Sight)” marks the first collaboration between these two R&B heavyweights and will be featured on the deluxe edition of Victoria’s latest album, Jaguar II.
