BTS, BLACKPINK, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift and more are among the major names recognized in the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards social categories. The newly announced nominees span Best Group, Best Long Form Video, Best Album and Song of Summer.
BLACKPINK and BTS headline the Best Group category alongside CORTIS, FLO, Fuerza Regida, Geese, KATSEYE and twenty one pilots.

The announcement comes as the VMAs continue to build a ceremony packed with major performances. LISA will perform “SaWaDiKa,” the lead single from her upcoming six-track EP PRESS PLAY, while RAYE, Sienna Spiro, GENER8ION with Yung Lean and Shaboozey have also been added to the lineup.
Madonna will open the Sept. 27 ceremony, becoming the first artist to deliver five VMA opening performances. The show will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and air live at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS, with simulcasts on MTV and Paramount+, as the newly announced social categories add even more attention to the artists and songs shaping this year’s ceremony.
