This week’s New Music Friday arrives with a massive dose of mainstream star power. At the center of the conversation is Summer Walker, who returns with Finally Over It, the long-anticipated finale to her acclaimed Over It trilogy. The 18-track album moves beyond heartbreak to explore themes of self-possession, liberation, and emotional clarity. Structured in two conceptual halves — For Better and For Worse — the project features collaborations with Doja Cat, Latto, and 21 Savage.
The week also brings a major return from 5 Seconds of Summer. The band’s sixth studio album, Everyone’s A Star!, marks their first full-band project under Republic Records and their most energetic release since 2022’s 5SOS5.
Louis Tomlinson continues to build momentum toward his 2026 album How Did I Get Here? with his new single “Palaces.”
Elsewhere, Charli XCX extends her gothic, orchestral evolution with “Chains of Love,” a sweeping new song from Wuthering Heights, the soundtrack to Emerald Fennell’s 2026 adaptation starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi. A major reunion also headlines the week: The Neighbourhood return with (((((ultraSOUND))))), their first studio album in five years.
With major drops from Miley Cyrus, Ice Spice, FKA twigs, Kelsea Ballerini, Zara Larsson, Jessie Murph, ITZY, and more, this week delivers one of the year’s most competitive release lineups. Now, it’s your turn to weigh in. Vote for the best new release of the week below.
