It’s time to refresh your playlist with some exciting new releases!
This mid-November New Music Friday arrives with a clear “Summer” theme — led by the long-awaited comeback of R&B powerhouse Summer Walker and supported by major drops from 5 Seconds of Summer, Charli XCX, and more.
Summer Walker headlines the week with Finally Over It, her third studio album and the final chapter of her acclaimed Over It trilogy. Following Over It (2019) and Still Over It (2021), the new 19-track project shifts away from heartbreak toward themes of self-love, femininity, and personal renewal. Split into two conceptual halves — For Better and For Worse — the album features the Grammy-nominated lead single “Heart of a Woman,” as well as collaborations with heavyweights such as Doja Cat, Latto, and 21 Savage.
5 Seconds of Summer return with their sixth studio album — and their first under Republic Records — marking their first full-band release since 2022’s 5SOS5. Everyone’s A Star! leans into chaotic, high-energy pop-rock and embraces the boyband identity they once tried to outrun. Across 12 tracks, the band channels their signature high-energy pop sound and newfound maturity, fueled by the members’ recent solo ventures.
Charli XCX dives deeper into her gothic, cinematic era with “Chains of Love,” a sweeping orchestral ballad from her upcoming soundtrack album Wuthering Heights. The project accompanies Emerald Fennell’s 2026 adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.
The Neighbourhood officially reunite with their first original studio album in five years. (((((ultraSOUND))))), a 15-track project, blends ’90s alt-rock textures, Britpop influences, and the band’s signature moody California sound. The project was preceded by three singles — “Private,” “OMG,” and “Lovebomb” — all released simultaneously.
FKA twigs returns with EUSEXUA Afterglow, a standalone follow-up to her acclaimed album EUSEXUA, which earned both a Mercury Prize shortlist and a Grammy nomination. Originally conceived as a deluxe edition, the 11-track project evolved into its own immersive exploration of the “afterglow” — the emotional and physical haze that follows moments of euphoria.
Noteworthy releases also come from Miley Cyrus, Kelsea Ballerini, Jessie Muprh, Ellie Goulding, Meghan Trainor, Lewis Capaldi, Kelsea Ballerini, Ice Spice, and more.
