Drake has officially given fans a date for Fear of Missing Out, but the rapper is still keeping the nature of the release under wraps. The project is scheduled to arrive on YouTube at 9 p.m. on September 15, adding another layer of mystery to an already cryptic rollout.
The announcement follows Drake’s August 2026 Instagram activity surrounding the title. On August 21, he shared an image of a CD jewel case labeled “FEAR OF MISSING OUT” alongside a camera emoji, immediately prompting speculation about whether the title referred to a new song, music video or larger visual project.

Now, the September 15 date appears to confirm that Fear of Missing Out is moving beyond a simple social media tease. Drake has not publicly specified whether the release will be new music, a video or another type of visual, leaving fans to interpret the YouTube premiere as the next clue.
The timing is particularly notable given Drake’s activity throughout 2026. On May 15, he released ICEMAN, Habibti and Maid of Honour simultaneously, creating an unprecedented Billboard 200 result as all three projects debuted in the chart’s top three positions. ICEMAN opened at No. 1 with 463,000 equivalent album units, followed by Habibti at No. 2 and Maid of Honour at No. 3.
ICEMAN has continued to perform strongly on streaming platforms, surpassing 1.7 billion Spotify streams. Its lead track, “Make Them Cry,” also delivered one of the biggest rap streaming debuts of the year, while Drake recorded 2026’s largest single-day streaming total by an artist.
Speculation over what comes next has continued despite the scale of that release campaign. Photos showing Drake back inside The Embassy recording studio, where he appeared to be tracking new vocals, suggested that the Toronto rapper had already returned to work on additional material.
His August livestream added further fuel to the conversation. Drake warned fellow artists, “These guys are dropping albums, like hello and goodbye, and careful with that reply cuz the pen isn’t dry,” a line that fans quickly interpreted as a sign that he was still prepared to release music.
For now, YouTube is the only confirmed destination and September 15 at 9 p.m. is the only concrete release detail.
