Drake has finally revealed what he has been teasing with Fear of Missing Out. The rapper announced that the project will arrive as a “not so short film” on September 15, adding a cinematic twist to a rollout that has kept its format deliberately unclear.

A not so short film directed and scored by the family SEPTEMBER 15,” Drake wrote alongside the announcement. The accompanying 24-second teaser opens with a lime-green speedboat racing across the water against a city skyline before cutting to the stylized title FEAR OF MISSING OUT.

The announcement follows footage that surfaced on September 9 showing Drake standing aboard a bright lime-green boat during what appeared to be a video shoot at dusk. Camera cranes, support vessels and a production crew could be seen around the boat, prompting fans to connect the shoot to the previously announced Fear of Missing Out project.

That connection now appears intentional. The new teaser uses the same distinctive lime-green boat seen in the behind-the-scenes footage, effectively turning the fan-circulated images into an early glimpse of the production. Drake has not disclosed whether the film will contain a new song, multiple tracks or previously unreleased music, but the description “directed and scored by the family” points toward a project built around both visuals and music.

The mystery surrounding Fear of Missing Out began on August 21, when Drake posted an image of a CD jewel case carrying the project’s title alongside a camera emoji. On September 3, he confirmed that something bearing the same name would premiere on YouTube at 9 p.m. ET on September 15, without identifying the format.

The FOMO project will follow the ICEMAN era. Earlier this year, Drake simultaneously released ICEMAN, Habibti and Maid of Honour, with all three projects debuting in the top three of the Billboard 200. ICEMAN opened at No. 1 with 463,000 equivalent album units, while Habibti and Maid of Honour followed at Nos. 2 and 3.

ICEMAN has since passed 1.7 billion Spotify streams, and its lead track “Make Them Cry” became one of the year’s biggest rap streaming debuts. Drake also returned to The Embassy recording studio after the release, with photos suggesting that additional material was already in progress. During an August livestream, he further hinted that his creative momentum had not slowed, saying, “the pen isn’t dry.”
