Ice Spice is setting the record straight. On Wednesday, February 25, the Bronx rapper directly addressed renewed speculation surrounding her weight loss after a fan on X questioned whether her transformation was linked to Ozempic. In a brief reply, she wrote: “na it was depression im better now tho.”
Conversation about Ice Spice’s appearance intensified in mid-2024 as fans noticed a slimmer frame during public appearances and performances. The discussion quickly evolved into widespread rumors, with some social media users speculating about the use of Ozempic — a GLP-1 medication primarily prescribed for type 2 diabetes that has also become associated with weight loss.
The artist has previously pushed back against those claims. During an X Spaces session, she dismissed the speculation in blunt terms, emphasizing her demanding tour schedule and fitness routine. She cited the physical toll of her Y2K! World Tour, where nightly high-energy performances functioned as intense cardio workouts. “I wish y’all never learned the word Ozempic,” she said. “You lazy b***hes never heard of a gym? It’s called the gym, it’s called eating healthy, it’s called being on tour.” She also shared gym clips featuring strength training, treadmill sessions, and core exercises, while noting she had cut back on processed sugars and focused on healthier eating habits.
