Yung Miami is officially stepping into her next chapter with Watch Dis, the rapper’s long-awaited debut solo album. Announcing the project on September 30, the former City Girls member framed the record as a deeply personal statement about betting on herself after years of being counted out.
“This album is personal. This is me betting on ME,” Yung Miami wrote alongside the announcement. “I’ve been counted out before… I know what that feels like. But I also know what it feels like to prove everybody wrong. WATCH DIS!”

The title marks a new direction for an album that has already gone through a major transformation. Yung Miami had previously teased the project as Yams, but ultimately scrapped the name after deciding it did not represent where she was creatively.
Her story in hip-hop began with the City Girls, the duo she formed with JT in 2017. Their breakthrough came through an uncredited appearance on Drake’s “In My Feelings,” before records including “Twerk” with Cardi B and “Act Up” turned the Miami pair into one of rap’s defining acts of the late 2010s.
Yung Miami began building her solo identity in 2021 with “Rap Freaks,” which became her first Billboard Hot 100 entry as a lead artist. Outside music, she expanded her profile through the award-winning Caresha Please podcast, Resha Roulette and fashion appearances, establishing a broader media presence while the City Girls’ run eventually came to an end in 2024.
The road back to music accelerated in April 2026 with “Spend Dat.” Produced by J White Did It, the track became a major summer breakout after taking off on TikTok, eventually reaching No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 to become Yung Miami’s highest solo peak.
“Spend Dat” will serve as the lead single from Watch Dis, giving the album a clear connection to the momentum that reignited Yung Miami’s solo career.
The project is slated for release later in 2026 through the relaunched Uptown Records. Yung Miami has also signed with WME for worldwide representation.
