Victoria Beverly Walker was born in Bath, England, in 2001. She grew up in a creative household. Her father was a statistics professor, and her mother worked as a caregiver. Though they weren’t musicians themselves, they supported Victoria’s early interest in the arts. Music was always a part of her life. She learned to play the piano and was surrounded by the sounds of the late ’90s and early 2000s — pop, R&B, garage, and rock — genres that would later mix and blend into her signature style. As a teenager, Victoria moved with her family to Kent. There, she attended school like any other student but kept her musical ambitions largely private. She began experimenting with songwriting and producing, but it wasn’t a big, flashy dream yet. It was something personal — a way to express herself quietly.
While studying film at the University of the Arts London, Victoria started making music more seriously. Using a simple setup — GarageBand on her iPhone and later on her laptop — she recorded songs late at night, often with a whispered delivery so she wouldn’t wake up her parents.
