Bruno Mars has officially set the stage for his highly anticipated solo comeback. On January 7, the Grammy-winning superstar announced his fourth studio album, The Romantic, scheduled for release on February 27. Just days earlier, Mars surprised fans by confirming that the album was finished, ending nearly a decade-long wait for a new solo era.

Alongside the album reveal, Mars also confirmed that the project’s lead single will arrive this Friday, January 9. While the song’s title remains under wraps, the announcement alone was enough to ignite immediate excitement among fans. “REAL LOVERS PLEASE STAND UP,” one fan posted on X. “CANT WAIT OMG,” another added. Mars also unveiled the album artwork, a black-and-white illustrated portrait that presents him in a vintage, almost memorial-style frame.

Details about The Romantic remain limited. Mars has not yet shared a tracklist, production credits, or featured collaborators. However, fans can already pre-save the album through his official website, where exclusive numbered vinyl editions are available for pre-order. A themed The Romantic T-shirt has also been released.

It has been nearly 10 years since Mars released his last solo album, 24K Magic, which arrived in 2016. The record became a cultural phenomenon, earning seven Grammy Awards—including Album of the Year—and producing era-defining hits such as the title track and “That’s What I Like.”

Despite the long gap between solo albums, Mars has remained omnipresent. Over the past two years, his collaborations with Lady Gaga on “Die With a Smile” and ROSÉ on “APT.” have become global streaming giants, collectively surpassing five billion Spotify streams. In 2021, he also earned renewed critical acclaim with An Evening with Silk Sonic, his collaborative album with Anderson .Paak, which won four Grammys.
