The Golden Disc Awards are set to return this weekend as one of the most prestigious nights in K-pop officially kicks off the 2026 awards season. The 40th Golden Disc Awards will take place on January 10, honoring the most impactful South Korean music released between early November 2024 and early November 2025.
Hosted by acclaimed singer Sung Si-kyung and actress Moon Ga-young, the event will be held at the Taipei Dome.
Who are the nominees?
The nominations for the 40th Golden Disc Awards were unveiled on November 25, 2025, spotlighting the artists who defined the past year in K-pop. For the first time in the show’s history, organizers introduced a new grand prize: Artist of the Year.
Aespa emerged as one of the ceremony’s standout contenders, earning two nominations. The group received a Digital Song Division Bonsang nod for “Dirty Work” and an Album Division Bonsang nomination for Rich Man. Jennie of BLACKPINK also secured two nominations for her solo work. Her single “Like Jennie” is competing in the Digital Song Division, while her debut solo album Ruby is recognized in the Album Division.
IVE continued their strong fourth-generation momentum with nominations across both digital and album categories. SEVENTEEN, one of K-pop’s most commercially dominant acts, also earned multiple nods. Hearts2Hearts and G-Dragon rounded out the list of artists with more than one nomination.
