After studying vocals at BIMM in Berlin, she embarked on her music career. On April 10th, she released her debut single, “Driving Back To Love,” which quickly became a huge hit. How would you define your music?

My music combines nostalgic synth sounds with modern pop. It always has a lot of small things happening in the background that contribute to the final sound. Lyrically, it explores open and honest emotions, making it both relatable and fun.

You were born in Dublin, Ireland, and then moved to Berlin, Germany. How has this move influenced your music and artistic vision?

So, I moved when I was quite young to Cologne and grew up there and then only moved to Berlin for University where I studied Vocals at BIMM. The move and mix of Irish and German influences definitely influenced me and my music. Berlin was the perfect move for me as it introduced me to so many people who are very open minded and have experience in a bunch of different styles and genres which really helped me explore different sounds until I found the one that I felt most at home with. It also allowed me to feel really free in terms of where to go with my artistic vision and do what feels right for me without having to worry about what others think.

Which artists have had the most significant impact on your musical style and why?

There are a lot that come into play, when I was younger, I grew up listening to a lot of music from the 70s and 80s and of course the music that was coming out at the time of me growing up. I listened to so many different genres and I think each one influenced me in one way or another. I think if I had to choose, I would say The 1975 influenced me in terms of having a vintage sound while still being modern and Cannons. They both have a charm that I just knew I wanted to have in my music too. But there is a never ending list of artists that I could name.

Can you walk us through your creative process when crafting new music? Where do you draw inspiration from?

When writing it can vary. I find it the easiest if I am in a studio setting. It helps me feel inspired and I especially love it if I am there with someone I am close to and feel comfortable with. Sometimes, especially with the EP, I draw inspiration from personal experiences and write based on that but there are some where my producer, who I worked with for the EP, would come in with an instrumental and I would create a story and run with that. I love just being in the moment and seeing what happens. I feel that way it is also the most authentic.

Your music explores themes of love, self-discovery, and emotional journeys. How do these themes reflect your personal experiences?

I was in a relationship with someone for a long time and with that there were of course ups and downs, as with any relationship. I found writing music based on moments in the relationship was really helpful in making my music honest and real and hopefully relatable for everyone. I learnt a lot from him and from the relationship and I learnt a lot about myself in so many ways and it helped me become who I am today and I think that it is also noticeable in my music.

Your debut song, “Driving Back To Love,” secured massive success, amassing more than 40,000 streams. Did you ever think that your debut single would become such a hit?

I was extremely pleasantly surprised on how well Driving Back To Love has done! I never expected it to go so well and I am so grateful for the support that it has gotten from everyone. I hoped that people would listen to the song and relate to it and also just have fun with it while listening and seeing the response is just so heart warming.

Can you tell us about your new single “Defeated”?

Defeated is the breakup song of the EP. I think it is the most personal one by far. I wrote it really quickly because just in the moment it all came flowing out and I really love how it ended up. Even though the topic is quite sad of course with the ending of a relationship, it is about finally making the decision to choose yourself. I wanted the music / instrumental to feel strong and hit hard because it is about being strong in the end.

What message do you hope listeners take away from it?

I hope they see that you can give your all to someone and that sometimes is not enough and that’s ok because your own happiness is important. It is also important not to lose who you are and to always stay true to yourself.

“Defeated” serves as the second single from your upcoming debut EP, “Driving Back To Love.” Can you give us a sneak peek into the project?

The EP is essentially the story of the beginning of a relationship, the meeting and the happiness and excitement that comes with it to the end. There is a duet in there which I am really excited for everyone to hear where we get to have a look into the relationship from both perspectives.

What is a message you would like to give through your music and why?

To make sure you are true to yourself, that you focus on your happiness and not be afraid to take chances. Sometimes jumping into something scary can be amazing and it can be worth the risk. Especially if it means finding your happiness. And to have fun too! I think it is important to have music out there that people can relate to so that they don’t feel like they are alone and that it is ok to not be ok. I mainly just want people to be able to listen to my music and enjoy it to the fullest.

Write here something you want to let people know.

My EP is coming out on the 28.06, it will be titled Driving Back To Love and I would love it if you could give it a listen and let me know what you think! It means so much to me and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.
