Can you tell us about your new single, “Northeast Native”?

Northeast Native is our upcoming single which blends the rich sounds of bluegrass with a gritty rock-country vibe. The song’s raw, heartfelt lyrics explore themes of our struggles, continued faith, and identity, capturing the essence of a young man trying to find his place in the world. With lines like “I’m a Northeast native, Jesus praying, messed up American kid,” We deliver an anthem that’s both deeply personal and universally relatable. Northeast Native showcases our unique style which fuses authentic storytelling with powerful, soul-bending sound.

What’s the meaning behind this song?

Chris Greiner (JustChris) is the mastermind behind the lyrics of this track. He states that this song is his life story and a time to be vulnerable with his audience. Verses consisting of struggles and hardships with no end in sight. Then, capped off with a sense of hope in Jesus.

The chorus is an exclamation of how simple this life is. “I’m a Northeast Native, Jesus praying, messed up American Kid”. We all are messed up, imperfect, and struggle daily. However, God loves us and forgives us immensely. This saving grace that we can be forever grateful for.

He says, “I’m so excited for you to hear my life and soul drawn out into a musical composition. Stay tuned for more updates down the road. I love you all.”

The idea of feeling “far from perfect” and “worthless” resonates with so many people. How did you find the strength to push through those moments?

The chorus exclaims, “Far from perfect, feeling worthless, stick to what I know best”. This is a driving factor to the anthem vibe you find throughout the song. All of these are real mindsets I have been through but have overcome and will continue to triumph with God. Honestly, with God, ALL THINGS are possible! None of what I have or do is because of my own strength.

What are you most excited about for your listeners to hear in this new song?

I want to express my gratitude and care for the people out there who also struggle with these things. I want to be an advocate for them and bring hope to an incredibly dark situation. This seemingly ballad that turns into an anthem that can be shouted for miles is the exact thing you sometimes need in a hard time. Something to yell! Our goal is for this to be that song you can yell on the way to a beach or during a hard time alone in your car.

If there’s one thing you want people to take away from “Northeast Native,” what would it be?

Life sucks, there is no doubt about it. Especially from the pressures of being an adolescent. However, God is GOOD and He will never fail you. That’s it.
