Her sound, shaped by 90s Alternative Rock icons like Nirvana, Hole, and Garbage, draws from her personal experiences and resonates deeply with fans.
In an exclusive interview with InMusic, Lauren shared how live performances have been crucial to her growth as an artist, especially early opportunities supporting artists like Tom Grennan and performing at festivals like SXSW and Ireland Music Week. “I’m so grateful for those experiences,” she said, admitting she initially felt out of her depth at such a young stage in her career. But those moments ultimately boosted her confidence, preparing her for larger stages and helping her form connections within the music community.
Her music continues to reach new listeners, with over 68,000 streams on Spotify and a steadily growing fan base. For Lauren, seeing her music resonate globally is a dream come true. “When I first started writing, all I wanted was for people to relate to my music,” she said. “I’m very lucky to have that connection with listeners.”
Lauren’s latest single, “When The Party Ends,” explores the shifting dynamics of friendships within the music industry, touching on themes like ego and the changes that fame can bring.
Looking ahead, she has even more in store with her upcoming EP, Devour, which includes “When The Party Ends” and an unreleased track she’s particularly excited about. “This track usually goes down well in my live set, so I’m excited to see how the recorded version translates,” she shared.

How would you define your music?
It’s very truthful for me, I write a lot about my personal experiences. Sonically I take major inspiration from bands like Nirvana, Hole, Garbage – a lot of 90s influences!
You’ve supported artists like Tom Grennan and performed at SXSW and Ireland Music Week. How have these live performances shaped your growth as an artist?
I’m so grateful for those experiences although I felt at times I was maybe in over my head at such an early stage in my career playing those kinds of shows but I met so many amazing people through them and it really boosted my confidence at the beginning of my career when I think I needed it most. Those experiences gave me the confidence to get up on big stages and do what I love.
With over 68,000 Spotify streams and growing, how does it feel to see your music reaching a wider audience?
When I first started writing all I wanted was for people to relate to my music. Because it’s what I love most about music. Being able to listen to a track and relate it to your own experiences. I feel very privileged that I am able to talk to people through my music and that they take the time to listen to me. I’m very lucky!
Can you tell us about your new single “When The Party Ends”?
I wrote this song at a very early stage in my career and it sat on a shelf for some time! I’m very pleased that it’s getting put out there and that people are listening to it because I’m very proud of it! It’s set in a party and the protagonist is talking about how it feels to attend a party with a friend who’s changing into someone they don’t recognise anymore.
What is the meaning behind this song?
It’s truthfully about navigating the music industry. Knowing someone before they gained a following or a platform and witnessing first hand how it changes people. It’s about the ego.
You have released many singles so far. Can you give us any hints or teasers about what you’re currently working on?
Well I have this 4 track EP ‘Devour’ scheduled for release now and there’s one more track on it that hasn’t been released as a single that I am very excited about. This track usually goes down well in my live set so I’m excited to see how the physical track translates!
What is a message you would like to give through your music and why?
I think I’d just want people to take leaps of faith and not be afraid to put themselves out there! I was terrified to release music and I would have regretted it majorly if I didn’t take that first leap. I’d also want people to know they aren’t alone in their experiences.
Is there anything else you’d like people to know?
I suppose I’d just tell them to keep an eye out for my EP ‘Devour’! I’m also playing a few live shows around Belfast soon so there’ll be more info on those on my socials 🙂
