BTS has added another milestone to the ARIRANG era. The group’s long-awaited music video for “NORMAL” has officially set the record for the biggest single day of streams for a K-pop music video in Spotify history, according to Spotify.
Released exclusively for Spotify Premium subscribers on July 17, 2026, the visual immediately became one of the platform’s biggest global events.
The music video had been heavily anticipated for weeks after BTS simultaneously updated their profile photos and banners across every major social media platform, fueling speculation that the visual was finally on the way. Those clues followed a rollout that had already included exclusive Spotify videos for “Merry Go Round,” making “NORMAL” the latest installment in the group’s expanding partnership with the streaming service.
Visually, the music video opens with all seven BTS members dressed in black suits while standing at urinals inside an ornate restroom. The scene directly references the tabloid-inspired newspaper campaign teasing a “mysterious late-night gathering.”
The release also generated an immediate commercial boost beyond Spotify. On launch day, three different versions of “NORMAL” simultaneously occupied the top 10 of the U.S. iTunes Songs chart, with the Korean version reaching No. 1, the standard version climbing to No. 2, and the instrumental edition landing at No. 6.
Momentum surrounding ARIRANG has remained remarkable throughout 2026. Earlier this month, the album became the first release by a Korean act to spend 12 consecutive weeks inside the top 10 of the Billboard 200. Issued on March 20 through Big Hit Music, the project debuted at No. 1, giving BTS their seventh Billboard 200 chart-topper.
Before “NORMAL,” BTS had already expanded the era with music videos for “Swim,” “2.0,” “Hooligan,” and “Merry Go Round,” alongside surprise releases such as “Come Over” during BTS FESTA.
