JENNIE gave fans their clearest taste yet of what could define her next solo chapter, debuting an unreleased song during CHANEL’s Métiers d’Art 2026 show after-party in Seoul on May 26. The surprise performance, complete with full choreography and a sleek stage setup, instantly ignited online speculation that her long-teased comeback is now entering its rollout phase.

Held at Seoul’s Centre Pompidou Hanwha, CHANEL’s Métiers d’Art 2026 presentation marked the house’s return to South Korea for a high-profile re-show of the collection first unveiled in New York last December. Designed to spotlight the maison’s artisan ateliers, the event naturally drew one of its most recognizable ambassadors. JENNIE, often dubbed “Human Chanel” for her decade-long relationship with the luxury house, arrived as one of the night’s defining figures after teasing “extra special and fun moments” in a recent interview with Dazed Korea.

During the after-party, JENNIE surprised attendees by performing a brand-new, unreleased track. Clips circulating across social media show the BLACKPINK star commanding the room with sharp choreography and a confident, high-energy delivery that fans quickly described as polished enough for an official lead single. Though no title has been confirmed, the song’s sleek production and performance-focused structure suggest a continuation of the sonic ambition she established on her 2025 debut album Ruby.

The performance lands just over a month after JENNIE publicly hinted that new solo material was on the way. Speaking on the red carpet at the TIME100 Gala on April 23, where she was recognized as the only K-pop act included in TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026 Artists category, she offered her strongest teaser yet: “I think it’s time to put my next thing out… new music from me maybe?”

That momentum has been building steadily throughout 2026. Earlier this year, she told V Magazine that her current creative process remains exploratory, with a focus on pushing her vocals further while refining the balance between Korean and English in her music. Her Tame Impala-assisted “Dracula Remix” became her highest-charting solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100, while BLACKPINK’s Deadline EP reaffirmed her pull within the group format.
