Tinashe is officially entering the final chapter of her latest creative era. The singer-songwriter has announced that her eighth studio album, POPSTAR, will arrive on September 25, 2026, while simultaneously releasing its second single, “CRASH OUT,” across all major streaming platforms.
The newly announced project will feature 16 tracks, including the previously released song “Too Easy.” While the full tracklist has yet to be revealed, POPSTAR serves as the third and final installment in the conceptual trilogy that began with 2023’s BB/Ang3l and continued with Quantum Baby in 2024.
POPSTAR arrives two years after its predecessor. Quantum Baby was released on August 16, 2024, and earned praise for its concise structure and adventurous production. The album featured the viral breakout hit “Nasty,” alongside “Getting No Sleep” and “No Broke Boys,” and was supported by the Match My Freak World Tour across North America, Europe and the United Kingdom. It debuted at No. 199 on the Billboard 200 and reached No. 23 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.
The POPSTAR era began several weeks ago with the release of “Too Easy,” which arrived on June 5, as Tinashe’s first original music in nearly two years following Quantum Baby. First teased during her DJ set at Coachella’s Do LaB stage in April before gaining momentum across TikTok and Instagram in late May, the confident, club-ready single was officially announced on June 1 ahead of its release, with the accompanying music video premiering a day later. Now confirmed as part of POPSTAR, “Too Easy” laid the foundation for the album’s rollout before the arrival of its newest single, “CRASH OUT.”
