JENNIE is officially entering a new chapter with Fallen Angel, a three-track digital EP arriving August 28. The BLACKPINK star announced the project after weeks of speculation surrounding her next solo release, with the title track set to lead the new era.
The EP will feature three songs: “FALLEN ANGEL,” “HEAVEN,” and “Less than a Lover.” According to the official announcement, the project comes “from JENNIE’s very personal place in her heart and the truest self-expression, A gift from JENNIE, with love,” with the team adding, “We hope you enjoy this EP to remember this summer.”

Fallen Angel follows JENNIE’s acclaimed debut solo album Ruby, which established a new commercial benchmark for the K-pop idol following its release in 2025. The album debuted inside the top 10 in 19 countries, sold more than 660,000 copies in its first week in South Korea and earned triple-platinum certification.
Ruby also expanded JENNIE’s presence on the Billboard charts, producing five entries on the Billboard Hot 100. “Like JENNIE” became one of the album’s biggest global successes, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard Global 200 and further cementing her position as one of K-pop’s most commercially successful solo artists.
The new EP arrives after a summer of live previews. JENNIE introduced several unreleased songs during a three-month festival run that took her across Europe, North America and Asia, with stops at Governors Ball, Roskilde, Open’er, Mad Cool, Lollapalooza and Summer Sonic 2026.
“Less than a Lover” has already generated significant momentum ahead of the EP. Written and composed by JENNIE, the song opened with 2.261 million Spotify streams, reached No. 1 on iTunes in at least 27 countries and topped YouTube’s worldwide Trending Music Videos chart. Its strong performance helped fuel speculation that the festival debuts would eventually become part of an official project.
JENNIE’s festival campaign concluded with Summer Sonic performances in Tokyo and Osaka, where she faced difficult conditions while performing. Despite microphone problems and an outfit malfunction caused by extreme heat, she completed her Osaka set, drawing praise from fans for continuing the performance.
