Stray Kids turned Rock in Rio into a massive K-pop showcase on Friday night, drawing a crowd of more than 130,000 as they headlined Palco Mundo in Brazil. The performance marked the first time in Rock in Rio’s 41-year history that an entire night of the festival was centered on K-pop, with the group closing the show shortly after midnight.
The eight-member JYP Entertainment group — Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and I.N — made an immediate impression by entering from near the barricade instead of simply taking the main stage. An extended T-shaped runway was also added to Palco Mundo’s usual configuration, allowing the members to move deeper into the crowd during the set.

Lightsticks filled Cidade do Rock after organizers permitted them inside the festival for the first time. Bang Chan acknowledged the enormous audience during the performance, telling fans that he could not see where the crowd ended, while members repeatedly encouraged the audience to stay hydrated and avoid pushing.
The set began around 12:10 a.m. and lasted roughly 100 minutes, combining a live band, choreography, pyrotechnics and fireworks with material spanning Stray Kids’ catalog. Songs from their August EP This & That featured prominently, including “This & That,” “Do It” and “CEREMONY,” while older favorites such as “Social Path,” “Side Effects,” “Chk Chk Boom,” “Walkin On Water” and “Hall of Fame” kept the set rooted in the group’s established sound.
The performance came after an especially strong year for Stray Kids in Brazil. Their 2025 DominATE stadium run drew roughly 65,000 fans across each of two sold-out nights at MorumBIS in São Paulo, contributing to an estimated 160,000–175,000 attendees across three Brazilian shows. That record-setting demand helped establish the group as a natural headliner for Rock in Rio rather than simply another international K-pop booking.
Friday’s festival lineup also featured NEXZ and Hwasa earlier on Palco Mundo, with Alok performing between the K-pop acts.
Stray Kids arrived in Rio during a larger Latin American run that includes their STRAYCITY festival dates in Bogotá, Buenos Aires and Mexico City. The group also recently opened its Run It world tour after This & That debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, extending their record to nine consecutive U.S. chart-topping albums.
