WayV is ready to launch a new era. The SM Entertainment group has officially announced its eighth mini album, Vision Wings, arriving on August 10, marking its first major comeback since the winter special album 白色定格 (Eternal White) released eight months ago.
The new project features seven tracks spanning multiple genres, including both the Chinese and English versions of the title track, “鸢 (Vision Wings).” Physical editions of the album are already available for pre-order through online and offline retailers worldwide.
According to SM Entertainment, Vision Wings is built around a unique linguistic concept inspired by several Chinese words that share the same pronunciation while carrying different meanings. These include “鸢” (kite or hawk), “源” (origin), “圆” (wholeness), “元” (beginning), “愿” (wish), and “园” (paradise). Each word serves as the thematic foundation for an individual song, creating a narrative centered on the values, ambitions, and motivations that continue to shape WayV’s artistic journey.
The comeback follows the success of 白色定格 (Eternal White), which topped QQ Music’s Overall Digital Album Sales Chart and EP Chart in China while earning a Gold Album certification after surpassing 250,000 yuan in sales. Internationally, the release reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in nine regions and landed inside the Top 10 in 15 regions worldwide.
WayV has steadily expanded its global profile since debuting in 2019. Consisting of KUN, TEN, XIAOJUN, HENDERY, and YANGYANG, the group has built a catalog that includes fan favorites such as “Love Talk,” “Kick Back,” “On My Youth,” “Give Me That,” and “BIG BANDS.” Their debut mini album Take Off topped iTunes charts in 30 regions, while “Love Talk” became the first song by a Chinese group to surpass 100 million Spotify streams. In 2024, WayV also made history with “Give Me That,” becoming the first group made up entirely of Chinese members to win on a Korean music show.
Before Vision Wings arrives, WayV will continue building anticipation with a performance at Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage in New York’s Central Park on August 2.
