WinWin is officially departing NCT and ending his relationship with SM Entertainment. The company confirmed on July 8 that the singer’s exclusive contract will conclude on July 9 following mutual discussions, bringing an end to more than a decade with the agency.
SM Entertainment shared the announcement through its official channels, confirming that WinWin will also conclude all activities as a member of NCT. The news marks a major change for both NCT and WayV, where WinWin has remained one of the group’s most recognizable members since debuting.
The agency’s full statement reads:
“We would like to sincerely thank all NCT fans for your continued love and unwavering support. Following careful discussions with WINWIN, we have mutually agreed to conclude his exclusive contract, effective July 9. Accordingly, WINWIN will conclude all activities as a member of NCT. We are deeply grateful to WINWIN, who has been with SM Entertainment for more than 10 years since his trainee days. We sincerely thank him for the time we have shared together and wholeheartedly support him as he embarks on a new journey.”
WinWin joined SM Entertainment as a trainee more than 10 years ago before debuting with NCT in 2016. Three years later, he became part of WayV, the Chinese-based subunit managed by Label V, alongside Kun, Ten, Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang. The group officially debuted on January 17, 2019, with the EP The Vision and has since built a strong international following through releases such as Kick Back, which earned Best Dance Performance (Chinese) at the Asian Pop Music Awards.
